The short answer is YES. People have always been skeptical about investing in equity due to the risk factor being on a higher side. Equity has always been considered as an investment avenue with highest risk but people never consider the time they should invest in studying and understanding the market. Stock market is not a place where you make money overnight, nobody does. It takes a lot of experience, patience and research in investing. Investing is also a profession and not just a side business. If you are not able to do the research you can anytime hire a professional for the same. Not investing in stock just due to lack of knowledge is not an option. This is the only avenue which gives highest return so avoiding equity is not an option for sure. Every individual should have a proper equity exposure in his financial portfolio, not opting for equities will affect your financial portfolio adversely. People from any income group or age group can opt for equity with caution. Professional advice should be taken before investing in equities.
